Futurama, Danelectro and Musicman Basses.

Following on from Chris Thomas’ previous “Guitars on a bed” photo, comes the latest in the series - “Basses on a bed”. From top to bottom, we have a Futurama short scale bass (previously owned by Gerry Taylor, Bassist for Stealers Wheel), a Danelectro Long Horn Bass and a Musicman Sterling.

Yes, the song is correct; some guys really do have all the luck.

“I’ve sent in my Jackson JS20 before.. but not like this. It now has a Strat neck I took off of my Squier Bullet because I prefer a thicker neck when playing those masterful melodies. The volume/tone controls are also off the Squier.
It’s nothing special, but I hope some of you enjoy it. :>”

“Can anyone shed light on this little lovely? Bought years ago as an unfinished project (needs routing & wiring), and as yet haven’t managed to find the right tech to help achieve that. PU’s will need to be slim/surface mount as even Str*t ones are too tall without cavities being routed, & the body depth is quite slim.”

Can anyone help out, or even tell us a bit more about this Pi-like beauty’s past?

Something a bit different perhaps… It’s a project I’m trying to get off the ground - the pic is of the first ever production guitar (“Hirsch SB-1 Radius ‘smallbody’ electric guitar” - small body, full-size neck / scale-length), made in October 2011.” If you check out his Facebook page, you can also see a diagram comparing it size-wise with a Les Paul for a better sense of scale.

Dan Amrich sent this beautiful bass in, saying; “This is actually my wife’s; we saw it in a store, didn’t grab it, and then spent years looking for its twin. What made it harder to track down was that the store shone a green light on it, so we were looking for a teal finish that never existed! Once we determined the truth, she received her dream bass for our 10th wedding anniversary.
